General:
they are easy to care for, even during the founding stage if not disturbed. They don’t grow very fast but you’ll still get nice results after a year or two.
Food:
They will accept most foods eg. Crickets, mealworms, sugar water, honey etc. If you feed insects from the wild freeze or boil these insects to sterilize them. Skipping this step can introduce mites to your colony.
Humidity:
They don’t need high humidity. If you hydrate the nest semi-regularly (once a week) you should have no problem in keeping the humidity right for these ants. Always make sure the ants have an external watersource in the test tube when in a nest.
Temperature:
they will thrive in warm temperatures,it’s best to keep them at 26-30c
Hibernation:
they will diapause from November to February at 10-15c
Sting/bite:
they don’t sting but majors bites can cause small cuts on your fingers.
